Are the documents you are seeking older than 20 years old? *

If yes, you will need to submit a request to National  Archives of Australia (National  Archives request) as the documents are within the open access period and do  not fall under the FOI Act.

Consultation with third parties

If the documents you seek relate to a third party (a person other than yourself, business or State or Territory government agency),  it may be necessary under the FOI Act for the AFP to consult with that third party to obtain their views on the potential release of documents.
